Cookies are tiny little text files that some web pages send to you. These text files have many purposes, but most allow a web site to identify you as a unique computer user. It is all but impossible to shop online or use web mail services (such as Hotmail) without accepting cookies.

Different browsers have different ways of enabling/disabling cookies. If you don't know which browser you're using, click on HELP and go down to the very last item on the menu, ABOUT [name of browser]. If you click on the ABOUT option, you can see the full name and version of your browser.
